My young kids came home from school needing an art smock - one of their dad's t-shirts or long sleeved shirts. I've heard t-shirts are better because the kids don't need to button them. Plus the short sleeves are actually long sleeves on young kids. I thought I would let the kids decorate them this weekend. Any ideas? |

Handprint or footprint t-shirts. Squeeze some paint in paper plates. Let them put their hands or feet in it and stamp it onto their shirts. Use fabric paints. Don't forget to insert a piece of cardboard between the layers of the shirt so the paint doesn't leak to the second layer. Fun for them to be messy sometimes :) I like the thumbprint idea, will try that next time. |

We decorated t-shirts for their art classes too. It was a great project to do before the start of the school year. We bought some iron-on designs from Walmart. The easy way! |

if you are decorating a girl's t-shirt, you could let her make little flowers with thumbprinting. you could draw the stems and let her make the flower .... |
