I come from a very traditional upbringing and was only allowed to have playdates with friends once a week or once every couple of weeks. Now our son wants to play with the neighbor's son practically every day after school. It is nice for me because they play nicely and he is occupied. Is there anything wrong with this?

I suppose it depends on whether the playdates are at your home or not. I am in favor of having our kids around me and their father and their siblings as much as possible. They are away enough, 8 hours or so at school every day. And activities on top of that. I figure that is enough. We have a policy of 1 playdate per week per child. Good luck :)
